Biography
Enloe is a research professor and professor emerita at Clark University. A pioneer of feminist approaches to international relations, she has investigated how gender hierarchies shape the global economy, military institutions, wars and the everyday operation of political power.
In Bananas, Beaches and Bases (1989), she demonstrated how international politics depends on labour, experiences and social relationships frequently excluded from conventional analyses. Her body of work also includes Maneuvers (2000), The Curious Feminist (2004) and Twelve Feminist Lessons of War (2023).
